A Pharisee challenged Jesus in Matthew 22:36-40, “Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?” He said to him, “You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments."
Matthew 28 18:20: Then Jesus approached and said to them, “All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.”

The word "Go" in Matthew 28:19 is translated from the Greek πορεύω; poreuō; Strong's Number: g4198.
Vines Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words states, "This verb is to be distinguished from others signifying 'to go.' It is best rendered, as often as possible, 'to go on one's way.'”
Other translations of poreuō add, "pursue the journey on which one has entered, to continue on one's journey," asking us to make disciples and baptize within the vocation for which He has designed us. If you are a plumber, make disciples as you plumb; a CEO, use those gifts to make disciples; a computer designer, use the gifts He's given you to proclaim His name.
How can we possibly follow and fulfill His commands?
Jesus’ word “Go” in Matthew 28:19 when seen in the context of the greatest commandment in Matthew 22 is the foundation for the name, mission and purpose of the As You Go Band. We are to love our Lord above all others and our neighbors as ourselves, and to, ". . . make disciples of all nations . . ." as we go on our way.
John 7:38 Jesus says that, ”He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”
Thus, we have faith that each of us is designed by our Creator, Lord and Savior and then brought to the Earth at a time that He chooses. He sends us into the world fully equipped with the gifts needed to follow His commands and to shower our brothers and sisters with all that we have been given, as we go.
Because He has done all these things, the As You Go Band is a group of activist song writers and Kingdom storytellers motivated by Jesus' word, "πορεύω; poreuō, to go and as we go on our way to follow His command to "make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you."
